Fun at Bay Area Pet Fair & Adoptathon

Hundreds of animals were adopted at the Bay Area Pet Fair & Adoptathon last weekend in San Rafael.

Pet Food Express, who sponsored this two day event, was hoping to reach a goal of 600 adoptions.  On Saturday, 253 animals were connected with new families.  The final count including Sunday’s adoptions is not in yet; but with each bustling day bringing in thousands of people, it seems the goal was in reach.

This successful event brought together tons of rescue groups, vendors, and entertainers from all over the Bay Area.  Shows, demonstrations, and contests ran throughout both days.  The biggest crowd drawer was the Splash Dogs dock jumping pool.  Dogs excitedly chased their favorite water toys off the dock and plunged into the water.  Little did the dogs know that it was actually a contest to see how far they could jump.

There was also police dog demonstrations, Sundance Stunt Dog Team, “My Mutt” Dog Show, balloon artists, and more.

Pug Rescue of Sacramento was among the attending rescue groups.  We will post more about PROS at this event in our next post.

Again, we have too many photos to show in one post, so we will divide it into 3 posts.
