Well, hello again! We wondered off and got lost, but we found our way back just in time for Kento’s birthday. We’re sorry to have left you for so long.
Kento turned 10 today! People get laugh lines as they age and pugs get happy hairs. It seems like Kento has grey hair sprouting out every day. We can’t say that it makes him look more distinguished though. It’s hard to pull that off when he’s snoring, sneezing and rubbing eye boogers on everything. But we love every single grey hair on his furry little body.
We have a soft spot for senior pugs with a full grey muzzle. Kento is working on his, but as of now it looks more like a teenage boy’s mustache, a few sparse sproutlings. That maybe an under-estimate. He does have quite a few on his chin. Most of his grey is on his stomach and the back of his legs.
Grey aside, he’s a pretty active, healthy goof. He still loves running crazy on the beach and doing wide-eyed acrobatics if we mention the word “treat”. It really is hard to believe he’s ten. In fact, he recently had blood work done and the vet said the results were that of a pug half his age.
We are very lucky to have shared all these years with him at our side. And today, we raised a few cupcakes to celebrate more years to come.
We made carrot and oat cupcakes and topped them with blueberry yogurt frosting. They got to celebrate at the big people’s table, something we wouldn’t normally allow. We reached a decade here, so we really let loose.
Happy Birthday, Kento!
